The Beauty of Imperfect Action

No one likes to miss an opportunity, and no one especially likes to fail when they do take their shot at the opportunity before them. If you are like me then you will start something new; a new hobby, a new business, a new workout routine, or even a blog! But before you start you have to make it perfect. You need to have the groundwork laid out, the path that you are taking is researched thoroughly, and you know your end game, but still, you wait and second guess yourself and say that it can be better. So you put off starting your hobby, your business, your workout routine, or your blog because what if it fails? What if it isn't Perfect?


Here's where the beauty of Imperfect Action comes into play. While yes it will be scary, you will be moving in the direction that you want to go. Which is so much better than staying where you are looking to where you could be, don't you agree?


Taking the first steps to improve your physical fitness can be daunting. But the only way you are going to be able to achieve your fitness goals is by starting. It can be something very simple such as hitting 8000-10,000 steps in a day when normally you hit 5000. Or it could even be writing down a food log just to keep track of what you are eating. Just by making a simple change, you will start to grow! You will already be so much farther than when you started!


Once you get started it will be so much easier to keep going as what is in motion stays in motion. You will only continue to get better, stronger, faster, whatever your goals are you will be that much closer and you will feel better I guarantee that. By taking the first steps with imperfect action rather than needing it to be perfect to start you can go so much farther and you can perfect what works for you along the way. Without actually doing anything even if you have the perfect plan it will be what worked perfectly for someone else and not you. The only way to make it perfect for you is by learning what works for you and the only way to learn that is by taking that first imperfect step.


Taking imperfect action isn't about being impulsive but rather knowing what you want and being confident in your abilities to get started. By doing so you will find out the answers to the questions you started with and you have already started and created something for yourself!


Now, this may come as a surprise to some of you but I have never written a blog before. I have spent a lot of hours trying to plan and perfect the process. I was stalling, I was afraid that it wouldn't be good enough, but yet here I am. By starting I can only get better (here's hoping anyway). I will continue to write these posts in regards to other fitness topics and as my writing and knowledge get better, I will get to help more people. Which is what I want to do. If by taking this one imperfect step I can help more people then why wouldn't I take it?


So really that's all there is to it. Find something that you want, set an end goal, and just go for it! You will only be farther ahead than where you are now.
